Social Central – Controls Against Non-Consensual Involvement

Social Central prohibits non-consensual involvement, including non-consensual intimate imagery and profiles created without a person’s consent. Controls are set out in our Acceptable Use Policy (especially §4.4) and Terms of Service. PDF: Download PDF.

1. What We Prohibit

• Posting, sharing, or threatening to share intimate images or private content of anyone without their consent (“revenge porn” and similar conduct).
• Using another person’s photos or identity without authorization (impersonation / fake pictures).
• Creating or maintaining profiles that present someone else without consent.
• AI-generated / synthetic / deepfake media used to depict real people or fake identities.
• Capturing, recording, or redistributing profiles, private conversations, tags, or other platform interactions for external social media or public forums without authorization.
• Nudity and sexually explicit profile / album / message content (reduces intimate-image abuse surface).

2. Prevention Controls

• Face-required primary profile photo — primary image must show the user’s real, full face; user confirms “Your main picture MUST be your face” when setting a main picture.
• Anti-impersonation / anti-AI rules — stolen photos, fake pictures, and synthetic media are banned under the AUP.
• Email activation + required profile — accounts must verify email and complete required identity fields before full use (see Profile Verification).
• Screenshot / screen-recording protections — technical measures to reduce unauthorized capture and redistribution of private content where implemented; circumventing those protections is prohibited (Terms).
• Single authentic presence — fake accounts and multi-profiles used to deceive or evade bans are prohibited.

3. Detection Controls

• Report Abuse / Report on profiles and on feed posts / comments (web and iOS).
• Block and Not for Me so users can stop unwanted contact without waiting on staff.
• Reports create support / moderation records for staff review.
• Automated ban if five unique users report the same account within five days.
• Staff may use reverse image search and similar tools when investigating impersonation or non-consensual photo use.

4. Enforcement

• Immediate content removal for non-consensual intimate imagery and unauthorized identity use.
• Warnings, suspension, or permanent ban at our discretion; ban-evasion accounts remain flagged.
• Retention of banned-account records for safety / compliance where appropriate.
• Referral to law enforcement when required or appropriate (see Law Enforcement Protocols).
