Social Central – Profile Verification at Registration

Effective Date: 2026-07-17 · Registration and required-profile controls

Social Central requires account and profile verification steps before a new user can fully use the Service. These controls reduce fake accounts, underage access, and non-person / impersonation profiles. Related rules live in the Acceptable Use Policy. PDF: Download PDF.

1. Account Registration Controls

  1. Signup gate — New account creation can be disabled platform-wide when needed.
  2. Email validation — Signup requires a valid email address format.
  3. Bot / automation check — Signup and login flows use ALTCHA (proof-of-work / challenge) to reduce automated registrations.
  4. Email ownership verification — New accounts start in a pending-activation state. We email a one-time activation code; the account is not activated until that code is confirmed.
  5. Password requirement — Signup requires a password meeting our minimum length rules.

2. Required Profile Completion (Before Full Use)

After email activation, the account is not treated as a complete profile until required fields and a primary photo are provided. Incomplete profiles are forced through a required-profile completion flow and cannot skip these gates for normal use.

3. Profile Photo / Face Controls

4. Ongoing Integrity (Post-Registration)

5. What We Do Not Claim

Social Central does not currently require government-issued ID document upload or third-party biometric KYC at signup. Profile verification is based on email ownership, required profile attributes, face-photo attestation and policy, bot controls, and ongoing abuse reporting / enforcement.
